Two Microchip solutions for wireless networks

prod15n58Microchip announces two new products in its range of IEEE802.15.4 and ZigBee ® wireless networking embedded short-range and low speed data transmission. The second module is MRF24J40MB RF transceiver for 2.4 GHz surface mount microcontrollers.

The new module adds +20 dBm receive sensitivity using a Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) integrated under the familiar IEEEE802.15.4 transceiver, an antenna on the board and adaptive discrete circuitry. The largest transmit power allows engineers to expand the reach of their networks based on IEEE802.15.4 and ZigBee wireless networking protocol.
The module eliminates RF design time, level of knowledge required and expenses, while accelerating time to market and mitigate the risk of development. This module certification is pending, another measure that saves time and cost that adds value to the user. Microchip provides the combination of this module with a perfect balance of the microcontroller memory, performance, peripherals and price among its hundreds of PIC ® microcontrollers in 8, 16 and 32 bit, and its digital signal controllers (Digital Signal Controllers, DSC ) dsPIC ® market leaders.
On the software side, the ZigBee protocol stack, Microchip recently registered PRO provides another option for wireless networks based on IEEE 802.15.4 and use Microchip's PIC microcontrollers. The combination of Microchip's ZigBee PRO stack, the radio transceiver or transceiver modules MRF24J40, and any of its 16-bit PIC24 microcontroller and DSC dsPIC33 form a platform under the Microchip ZigBee PRO certified by the ZigBee Alliance.
In addition to providing ZigBee protocol stacks, the designers that do not require interoperability or networks with large nodes can save costs in the certification and the memory of microcontroller using
free protocol stacks and pro -
pias Miwi based on IEEE 802.15.4 ™ and P2P Miwi.
Designers can integrate MRF24J40MB transceiver module and the 16-bit PIC24 microcontroller, dsPIC DSC and PIC32 32-bit microcontrollers through the acquisition of the new daughter card MRF24J40MB PICtail ™ Plus (part number AC163028-2). This daughter card is designed for connection to the modular development board Explorer 16. plug-in modules available for all families of 16 and 32 bit microcontrollers.
Is also available for wireless network analyzer to display graphically ZENAtm the wireless network traffic to analyze the entire network traffic and display decoded packets gr'çaficamente.
