Interference detection on Wi-Fi networks

Ekahau Inc. has added the spectrum analysis capabilities Wi-Fi (802.11 WLAN) to the solution Ekahau Site Survey. The spectrum analyzer allows users to detect and display the interference problems that can not be detected with standard Wi-Fi adapters, such as wireless video cameras, cordless phones, radar, microwave ovens and Bluetooth devices that may pose an impact performance and benefits.

The new spectrum analysis tool has been optimized for simultaneous operation with Ekahau Site Survey. The spectrum analysis functionality can be put in place since the user interface of Ekahau Site Survey when using version 4.5.9 or higher of Ekahau Site Survey.
The spectrum analyzer dual band is able to analyze the frequency band of 2.4GHz, in addition to the space frequency of 5 GHz, which is becoming increasingly important with the new 802.11n WLAN.
"Discovering and eliminating interference has become a challenge for all users of Wi-Fi, such as those devoted to health, manufacturing and logistics. The new 802.11n technology increases performance and reliability significantly, but applications such as voice and video are still vulnerable to interference from such non-Wi-Fi, "said Jussi Kiviniemi, Product Manager at Ekahau. "The addition of our spectrum analysis tool ensures that customers can continue Ekahau designing and maintaining global networks better performance Wi-Fi for data, voice, sensors and real-time applications.
"The spectrum analysis is an essential part in the development of deployment and solving business problems through Wi-Fi networks," said Devin Akin, CTO of CWNP Program, the de facto industry standard for training and certification Wi-Fi. "As an Ekahau, CWNP training and global channel are pleased to see that Ekahau has provided a spectrum analysis solution easy to use and cost effective."
The spectrum analyzer is marketed as an optional feature for buyers of issues Ekahau Site Survey Pro or Standard. Current users of Ekahau Site Survey can already buy the scan tool to improve existing software. The solution is available from Ekahau directly or through certified distributors and resellers of Ekahau.
