Cable carrier ESD protected

Prod21In manufacturing and processing of electronic components, ESD (Electrostatic Discharge, ESD) presents a serious threat to sensitive electronics. Moreover, the increasing miniaturization of semiconductor components involves an even greater sensitivity to ESD

The improved protection against electrostatic discharge is therefore necessary not only for the materials and tools used, but also for drag. But this can be done during handling and assembly only if the plastic conduit used have a lower surface resistivity or volume.
To achieve this, KABELSCHLEPP is based on nanotechnology. The material used in the new conduit ESD incorporates carbon nanotubes (Baytubes ® from Bayer MaterialScience). Carbon nanotubes are tubular carbon particles of microscopic size. The carbon atoms form a structure similar to a honeycomb. The electrical conductivity of these nanotubes is determined by the details of this structure. The electrical conductivity is enhanced by the structure of graphite on the surface of the material created by the carbon nanotubes as an added functional.
The new ESD KABELSCHLEPP drag far outweighs the requirements covered the standard for ESD (DIN EN 61340). Thanks to the large specific surface area and extremely balanced distribution of carbon nanotubes in the carrier material, you also get a good conductivity at the contact points between the links of the chain and therefore along the length of the carrier .
An added advantage is that as a result of the modification of fiber reinforced material with nanotubes, the stability of the drag is also increased.
Whether in chip production, semiconductor production, manufacture of electronic components or solar technology, thanks to its low surface resistivity, new drag KABELSCHLEPP ESD not only reduce significantly the risk of ESD, but also represent a practical investment for the future standards.
