GW Instek introduces New Digital Oscilloscope, GDS-3000 series

GW Instek will soon launch a new series of digital oscilloscopes GDS-3000, this series offers a powerful waveform detection tools to simplify the use of oscilloscope to capture increasingly complex switching power supply circuit design and debugging mixed-signal design

Other new feature includes VPO waveform capture technology, 4 windows spilt display, windows navigate tool, switching power measurement, serial data bus measurement such as I2C/SPI/UART. The bandwidth for GDS-3000 series will be up to 350MHz. With the launching of GDS-3000 together with our existing GDS-2000, GDS-1000 and GDS-1000A oscilloscope series, GW Instek can offer a complete range of oscilloscope for user to select based on their budget.

In recent years, power supply design engineers constantly strive to improve the switching power supply efficiency, effectiveness and stability of power supply for the complex and dynamic testing environment. However, the existing general oscilloscopes were unable to meet the required test conditions and parameters. With GDS-3000 Series oscilloscope, a built-in power supply test systems for the Power Quality, Harmonic, Ripple, In-rush current and other related tests can be performed. This will help the engineers to perform all these tests with ease.

GDS-3000 Series oscilloscope will come with 8” widescreen high-brightness TFT display, standard built-in Power measurement function, Serial BUS triggering, protocol decode and many other high-end test capability. With the built in split windows navigate tools, engineers can have easy control for measurement of four signals simultaneously using 4 windows Spilt Display mode.

GDS-3000 series offer the bandwidth range provide 150MHz, 250MHz and 350MHz, with the 2 or 4 analog channel, independent 25k points record length for each channel, sampling rate of all channels up to 5 GSa/s and waveform update rate is 3,000 screen/second. With the fast update rate, engineers can rest assure that the signal capture will be more accurate and transient signal can also be captured.

All models were equipped with RS232, LAN, VGA port, USB host port and device ports which supports USB flash drives. PictBridge is built in for direct print with certified printer. GDS-3000 series also offers FreeWave bundled software. With FreeWave software, user can connect the oscilloscope to PC for PC remote control. All signals, analysis and reporting capabilities can be monitored through the PC too. All models comes with a 3 years warranty.
