UMTS module to support future M2M applications

 

The wireless module EU3 UMTS900 of Cinterion Wireless Modules, represented in Spain by Anatronic, SA, is a solution to overcome the long-term requirements of multiple industrial M2M applications such as automatic meter reading (AMR).

The new EU3 has new dual-band frequencies for 2G and 3G, including the newly incorporated UMTS900 which further supports applications developed for use in GSM networks in the coming years.
With this functionality UMTS in the 900 MHz band, the EU3 offers greater coverage area for high speed communications, even in very remote locations.
The EU3 also provides functionality GPRS / EDGE support fixed, mobile and portable, where 3G coverage is not yet available.
Specially designed for M2M applications, the new UMTS wireless module achieves extremely fast data rates in serial interfaces (up to 460 kbps) and USB (up to 480 Mbps) to provide a fast and easy transfer.
Moreover, the ten terminal E / S general purpose (GPIO) ensure flexibility possible to connect sensors customer applications.
