u-blox Launches the platform with u-blox 6 GPS technology, ultra low-power
The market leading provider of Embedded GPS receivers and wireless u-blox, distributed by Venco Electronica, announces the upgrade of the core CMOS technology u-blox version 6. Devices based on u-blox 6 drastically reduce energy consumption thanks to new intelligent management. The innovations allow a significant extension of the duration of the equipment batteries in consumer GPS applications critical.
u-blox 6 supports GPS services and software company's owners "YUMA", and the solution based on technological progress "Capture & Process" that allows for instant location and very low power consumption. The technology "Capture & Process" is the ideal solution for lower power and a battery-powered applications such as geolocation traking or photos.
The first samples of UBX-G6010 GPS receiver single-chip and chipset UBX-G6000/G0010 be available in late 2009 for evaluation and will be updated later the families of the LEA and NEO GPS receivers. The product families ANTARIS 4 and u-blox 5 will still be fully supported.
Andreas Thiel, executive vice president of R & D Hardware, and cofounder of u-blox says the step-blox u-6 is a major challenge for u-blox and their clients given the increased demand in the market for high-sensitivity GPS solutions , long life and instant location. Furthermore, products based on u-blox 6 will provide a great benefit to manufacturers of GPS products and applications that require a period of weeks or months of battery life.
The u-blox customers can benefit from the pin-compatible products. Applications for u-blox loggers 6 are aimed at ultra low power GPS, fleet management and control, trakking of animals and people, black boxes for automotive GPS devices, personal navigation and recreation, as well as cameras or phones with geopositioning . The u-blox integrated circuits 6 will be available in standard versions and automotive.
