RFID pilot project implemented by Zetes in Azucarera Ebro

Act2Zetes leading company in Europe in automatic identification solutions, data capture and mobility, has successfully completed the implementation of the pilot phase of a project based on RFID technology in Sugar Ebro Guadalete (Jerez), a company belonging since May 2009 to British Sugar Group, second largest producer of sugar in the world Azucarera Ebro is the leading sugar producer in Spain and has several factories and operations centers throughout the country. This pilot project is based on RFID technology to control output of trucks with finished product.
As Ebro Sugar approached the project to control their logistics through RFID, Zetes analyzed the needs of this and study the technical and functional requirements. The company had to obtain an automated solution for vehicles, validation and registration of entry and exit of trucks, a snapshot of their handicaps and weight fast and without errors, and automation of records management throughout the logistics process ( delivery notes, scale tickets, etc.)..
The project's main objective is to automate the identification on the logistics of the refinery Guadalete, avoiding manual intervention to minimize the error rate in their tasks and increase productivity. The solution, based on control of entry and exit of vehicles required a remote identification, for this reason and with the idea of controlling the internal traffic in the future within the factory, Zetes proposed an active RFID automatic identification. Integrating the solution with the management system Azucarera Ebro, which works with SAP, is also part of the project to Zetes performed as well as integration with the environment, manage barriers and traffic lights signals, industrial weighing systems , Association of weights, etc..

The pilot phase has focused on the docks where the cargo company to issue azÝcar pallets. The carrier is directed to the office before loading the material where it picks up a ticket, which incorporates an active tag, it contains an identifier that nÝmero, to steer the vehicle on the scale, is read by an RFID reader. Once on the scale, and by applying appropriate software to record the tag with the data carrier and the lorry registration nÝmero, tare it, the maximum weight which can lead to load source material, etc.
The operation is that once the tag is recorded, is located on the dashboard of the truck, it loads the goods in question and goes to the exit of the pier equipped with a system of barriers and signs. At this point, Zetes has set identification column, placed strategically, they read the tag data associated with the vehicle and the weight of goods loaded. Identification These columns contain a screen appear that contains the tag data, thermal ticket printer, a controller and RFID antenna, intercom, etc.. In the event that exceed the total weight (tare more load) indicates the carrier, through the intercom, contact the office as there is an effect, if everything is correct, the light green color indicates the carrier picks up your ticket and starts its route.
The second phase of the project also involves controlling the entry of raw materials by a process similar to that of the pilot phase, to achieve optimum traceability throughout the logistics. An RFID system to automate the entry of trucks carrying raw materials to learn and record its source, the total weight by downloading the raw material and, upon leaving the docks, check the exact amount of material discharged.
